Frequently asked questions

Questions before you inquire

Practical answers about USB and video connections, product selection and the information that helps start a clear purchasing conversation.

Finding a product

Start with your equipment and the connection you need.

Browse by interface or application, then open a product to review its connector arrangement and available information.

USB connections

Does a USB-C connector tell me the data rate?

No. The connector shape does not establish the cable’s data capability. Check the information for the specific cable and configuration.

Do all USB-C cables carry video?

No. The cable and host device must support the required video function. Define video output separately from charging and data.

Are all ports on a USB hub equally fast?

Not necessarily. The four-port hub configurations shown combine one USB 3.0 port with three USB 2.0 ports. Choose a port for the intended peripheral.

Video connections

Are Mini HDMI and Micro HDMI interchangeable?

They are different connector sizes. Check the port on your camera or other equipment before choosing a cable or adapter.

What is the difference between an HDMI switch and a splitter?

A switch selects a signal path. A splitter distributes one source to multiple displays. Select the product around the job you need it to do.

Can a USB-C to HDMI cable work with every USB-C device?

No. The host must support the required video output. A USB-C socket alone does not establish video compatibility.

Compatibility & options

What should I check before choosing a product?

Check both interfaces, connector direction, intended equipment and required function. Then consider length, connector access and other product options.

Can I select a cable by its appearance alone?

No. Similar constructions can have different functions and ratings. Refer to the exact product information and selected configuration.

Does a longer cable always keep the same capability?

Do not assume that every length has the same rating. Confirm the requirements for the selected length and complete equipment connection.

Branding & packaging

Can I discuss a logo or packaging requirement?

Yes. Tell us which product you are considering and describe your artwork, finish or packaging requirements. The options need to be confirmed for that product.

What information is useful for a branded range?

Include the product name or link, connector configuration, quantity, intended use and any logo or packaging requirements.

Is there a fixed order quantity or delivery promise?

Include your quantity and timing requirements in the inquiry. Order arrangements need to be discussed for the selected product and configuration.

Product documentation

Does one document cover every product?

No. Check the holder, model coverage, date and scope of each document against the exact product being considered.

What should I include when asking about documentation?

Identify the product or model, selected configuration, target market and the requirement your purchasing process needs to review.

Does a product image establish certification?

No. A photograph, marking or performance screenshot does not on its own establish a current certification for a product.
